The DotScan Rack version has been replaced by the DotScan cube version. Both systems are equal with regards to functionality. The only difference is that the cube version is provided without a computer. To use a DotScan cube, a computer with at least one USB 2.0 interface and a Microsoft Windows operating system is required. Due to in-house IT regulations and global support issues, customers are now asked to provide the computer hardware for DotScan. DotScan systems are highly reliable with few support cases reported over the last 7 years. On the other hand, computers are an off-the-shelf product, and are more likely to have hardware issues. By providing computers themselves, customers can resolve these kinds of issues more quickly by taking advantage of in-house IT expertise.
